This policy position paper discusses how to regulate the treatment of impurities in the captured CO2 stream from an industrial source. Key sub-issues are whether CO2 would be defined as a waste, and Whether impurities in the CO2 stream should trigger waste management or hazardous waste management regulations in a specific regulatory regime.
